Cisco has further extended its training and certification portfolio by addressing the need for business professionals to stay ahead of the rapidly changing technology environment.
The offerings not only address the skills required for the role of Client Success Manager, but also a range of other qualifications aimed at helping business and sales professionals to digitally build and transform their organisations.
The Customer Success Manager certification is about building customer relationships. Its foundation is on providing a core set of skills to help customers achieve the desired business outcomes through their technology investments, and to increase and expand adoption. All of this will help to ensure that customers gain enough value to justify renewing contracts, thereby reducing churn.
The other certifications come under the ‘Business Specialist’ banner and include the following which are all aimed at sales professionals:
- Business Value Specialist – to help candidates succeed in becoming trusted advisors through the ways in which they capture priorities and opportunities, and build business strategies and operating models
- Business Value Practitioner – designed to assist sales professionals who engage in customer conversations aimed at pinpointing a strategic view of customer needs, lead stakeholders to consensus decisions, and produce cross-architectural roadmaps
- Business IT Roadmap Specialist – this role-based certification will help candidates to understand IT/business strategy and priorities, provide architectures, solutions, software and services, and deliver business cases, roadmaps and plans for adoption
- Business Value Analyst Specialist – this will enable candidates to achieve more effective results in terms of providing and positioning Cisco’s portfolio of products, services and solutions, and will act as a Foundation course for Cisco and the Channel Partner sales professionals
In addition there is a role at the enterprise IT level, namely the Enterprise IT Business Specialist. This certification is aimed at helping IT professionals to capture business needs, assess technology options from a business context, and understand an IT solution’s return on investment (ROI) and total cost of ownership (TCO).
Cisco also has a number of other additions to this business transformation programme planned throughout the coming year, including innovation, digital marketing and technical project management.
Tejas Vashi, senior director, product strategy & marketing, Cisco Services confirmed:
“Business transformation is enabled by technology and driven by talent. …. we will continue to enhance our progressive portfolio of role-oriented, business transformation certifications throughout the next year to drive our customers’ and partners’ success forward, faster and further.”
The current announcements come hot on the heels of two other new Cisco certifications (Network Programmability Design and Implementation Specialist, and Network Programmability Developer Specialist), both aimed at providing networking professionals with the skills to support ongoing digital innovation.
